INTRODUCTION TO THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
Research and development and the search for new research topics have been centralized in the Research and Development Division, where we identify development targets that meet the needs of the times and contribute to the timely launch of new products and improvements to the quality of our products.
We also share the results of these efforts through the Sakai Chemical Group's research and result presentation (SAKAINNOVATION Presentation) in an effort to create technological synergies.
CORPORATE RESEARCH LABORATORIES
The Corporate Research Laboratories engage in basic research and applied research and development, ranging from research that could lead to future core businesses to development work intended to be commercialized in the near future.As the core of the Group's R&D efforts, the laboratories also provide technical support and technology to each company in the Group and consolidate research results, thereby contributing to the progress of the entire Group.

ONAHAMA DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
The Onahama Development Department engages in application development, quality improvement efforts, and development of manufacturing methods for products such as titanium dioxide, barium sulfate, barium carbonate, zinc oxide, and barium titanate produced at the Onahama Manufacturing Site located in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.
They are focused on the development of products that support the foundations of modern society, such as electronic materials, heat-dissipating materials, antibacterial materials, cosmetics materials, and microplastic beads substitutes.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DEPARTMENT
This department plays an important role in ensuring continuing operations and development by supporting the execution of intellectual property strategies, promoting the acquisition of intellectual property rights for new materials, and conducting patent analysis and technical information searches for the entire Sakai Chemical Group.
R&D PROMPTION DEPARTMENT
The department’s main activities are to search for research and development topics and promote stepping up of the Research and Development Department's research topics.They promote the development of catchphrases that emphasize competitive advantages and development concepts.
In addition, collaboration with outside organizations is also important, and the department plays a role in finding potential targets for joint research with industry, government, and academia.
