Sakai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter, the “Company”), recognizes that it is our social responsibility to properly handle the personal information of our customers, employees and their families, and former employees (hereinafter, "Personal Information"). To thoroughly protect such personal information, we established the "Privacy Policy" on April 1, 2005. The handling of Personal Information under this Privacy Policy is as described below and in the Company's Handling of Personal Information.
The Company recognizes the importance of Personal Information and has implemented the following measures.

  1. The Company will comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding Personal Information, establish internal standards for the handling of Personal Information, and ensure that all employees are aware of these standards,implementing, maintaining and continuously improving them.
  2. When acquiring Personal Information, the Company will publicly announce or individually communicate the purpose of use, and acquire Personal Information only to the extent necessary for such purpose of use.
  3. The Company will establish a management system for Personal Information, ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date, and take measures to prevent unauthorized access to, loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of Personal Information.
  4. The Company shall use Personal Information only within the scope of the purpose of use publicly announced or communicated at the time of acquisition, manage it appropriately, and shall not disclose or provide it to any third party without the consent of the individual, except in the following cases.
    1. When the consent of the individual concerned has been obtained
    2. When a part of the business dealing with Personal Information is entrusted to a third party within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
    3. When otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations, etc.
  5. When entrusting Personal Information to a third party through outsourcing, the Company will conclude a contract as necessary and take other legally required measures.
  6. The Company affirms that the individual has the right to disclose, correct, discontinue use of, or delete their Personal Information, and the Company will promptly respond to such requests from the individual, except when there are special circumstances stipulated by law.

Handling of Personal Information by the Company

1.Compliance with Law and Public Order

When entrusting information processing and other operations involving Personal Information from customers, or when acquiring Personal Information ourselves, the Company will comply with relevant laws, regulations, and various other norms.

2.Safe management of Personal Information

The Company will strictly manage and protect Personal Information entrusted to us by our customers and Personal Information that we have acquired ourselves. The Company will take reasonable safety measures in accordance with internal regulations to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification, leakage, etc., and in the event that a problem should occur, will promptly take appropriate action.

3.Purpose of Use of Personal Information

When entrusted by our customers to handle their Personal Information, or when we ourselves acquire personal information, the Company will use it for the purposes listed below (including purposes of use that are amended based on (6) below) to the extent necessary for the execution of our corporate activities in the inorganic materials business, plastic additives business, catalyst business, electronic material business, functional material business, etc., as well as for other purposes described in our Articles of Incorporation. In the event that it becomes necessary to use Personal Information for any other purpose, we will notify the individuals concerned and obtain their consent by contacting them by letter, email, fax, etc.

    1. Contact and provision of information to product developers, manufacturers, sellers, etc.
    2. Notification and reporting to government offices
    3. Appropriate and smooth communication with our contact representatives
    4. Other purposes of use that were clearly indicated to customers when acquiring their Personal Information

  6. Smooth operation of other parts of the Company’s business
    In addition, if the Company changes the purpose of use of Personal Information it handles when it acquires such Personal Information, it will do so within the scope reasonably deemed to be relevant to the purpose of use before the change, and will communicate or publicly announce such changed purposes of use to the individuals concerned.

4.Provision of Personal Information to third parties

In principle, the Company will not provide customers' Personal Information to a third party except in the cases listed in (1) and (2) below. In the event that it becomes necessary to provide Personal Information to a third party in any case other than those listed below, the Company will notify the individuals concerned to that effect and obtain their consent by contacting them by email, fax, etc.

  1. When the customer's consent has been obtained
  2. When otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations, etc.

5.Entrustment of Personal Information

When entrusting Personal Information to a third party through outsourcing to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, the Company may enter into necessary contracts and take other measures required by law.

6.Sharing of Personal Information

The Company may share Personal Information as follows to the extent permitted by law in order to provide our customers with comprehensive services in an integrated and efficient manner among the Sakai Chemical Group companies, and for the purpose of business communication, personnel management at the time of secondment, employment management, etc., among the Group companies

When the Company receives an inquiry from an individual regarding the notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of content, termination of use, deletion, or suspension of provision to third parties (referred to as "disclosure, etc.") of their Personal Information that we ourselves have obtained (Personal Information subject to disclosure), the Company will respect the customer's wishes and will promptly take appropriate measures to respond to the individual's request. (However, please be aware that the correction, updating, or deletion of Personal Information may unavoidably result in the partial or complete unavailability of some or all of the Company’s services, such as those that require personal information.)
