Catalyst for Ozone Decomposition/Catalyst for Deodorization

The catalyst for ozone decomposition is utilized in treatment of ozone generated by a corona discharge from office equipment, and treatment of ozone emissions resulting from ozone deodorization. SCI's catalysts can be produced in a variety of forms, and they offer high durability and decomposition rates.
Changing from activated carbon to catalysts can result in lower running costs. Moreover, if you choose to use our catalysts instead of other alternatives for ozone decomposition, the quantity of catalysts used can be decreased and excellent cost performance can be achieved. We also provide products that can be applied to deodorizing by low-temperature oxidation.

  • SCI's catalyst for ozone decomposition is mainly used for the following purposes:

  • If you use catalysts for ozone removal instead of activated carbon, the following advantages are expected:
  • ・Longer operating life due to catalysis can be realized.
  • ・Risk of burning filter parts due to heat of reaction for high consistency ozonation is prevented.

Ozone clean

SCI's catalyst for ozone decomposition in office equipment comes in a variety of product grades to meet customers' specific requirements and has the following features:

  • ・It shows high ozone decomposition rates under severe conditions such as high space velocity and gas flow.
  • ・It can be used over a long term, because of superior durability.
  • ・It has low pressure drop.
  • ・It does not give off a foul odor because organic compounds in the air are oxidized by ozone.
  • ・All product grades are certified in accordance with the Standard for Tests for Flammability of Small Polymeric Component Materials (UL94V-0).

Base materials configured like paper are used and they are classified by material into coat type and solid type. Thin materials with the thickness of a sheet of paper for honeycomb of high cell density are developed and always provided. Despite its paper form, a honeycomb catalyst with low pressure drop is available.
SCA Aluminum honeycomb
Aluminum honeycomb
Typically, hexagonal cells are formed from aluminum foil through an expansion process. This type is light and its wall thickness is thin. Therefore, pressure drop is low despite high cell density. In addition, humidity resistance is high.

513 SCC For medium- or high-speed machine/coat types. General-purpose type of 713.
321 SCC Solid type made by incorporating a catalyst and odorous component adsorbent into corrugated material with high durability, suitable for long-term use. Shows high performance in removal of bad odors; for example, lower fatty acid.
131 SCA,SCC Coat type for long-term use/high durability and deodorizing. Performance of removal of foul odors, including ammonia, etc., is high. Ozone decomposition activity is also high.
723 SCA,SCC For medium-speed machine/coat type. This type maintains 713 level ozone decomposition activity and has higher VOC removal activity.
415 SCA,SCC This type has excellent deodorizing performance for S-series compounds such as mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide as well as N-series compounds such as ammonia and amine series.
In addition, we can provide a grade with excellent deodorizing performance for aldehyde, etc., upon customer request.
